In order to enhance the
quality of undergraduate laboratory sessions by increasing the laboratory resources
(instruments / equipment by new purchase and repairs of faulty equipment) by
giving opportunity for individual as well as group lab work where necessary, undergraduate laboratory equipment were purchased for Rs. 5.73 Mn. The certifications given below outline the contribution of the lab equipment purchased for undergraduate labs in the Departments of Botany, Chemistry, Zoology and Physics for the B.Sc. (General) Study Program.
QIG is a competitive grant of Rs. 25 million to enhance quality and relevance of B.Sc.(General) degree program; a project undertaken by Ministry of Higher Education, under the Higher Education for the Twenty-first Century (HETC) program. The Comprehensive Proposal ranked 1st, among competing study programs in North-East universities and ranked 4th among the 20 undergraduate study programs qualified for the grant out of more than 80 competing study programs from all universities in Sri Lanka.
