Field Visit (TOR-O/11e)

This is another field activity organised by Student Union, Faculty of Science, EUSL as a follow up to the Orientation Workshop conducted on Spirituality (TOR-O/10aTOR-O/10c) attempting to find common grounds on spirituality and harmony with nature irrespective of our religious beliefs. This is one of the series of Field Activities (TOR-O/11b, TOR-O/11c_d) conducted by students under the attitude domain initiative of Act.1.3.

As part of attitude domain initiative, Science Faculty Students organised a field activity at Seruwawila Mangala Raja Maha Viharaya, which is situated about 8 km inwards from A15 main road (Batticaloa-Trinco coastal road)  on 1st July 2015 (Poya Day). It was a 'Sramadana' activity followed by spiritual activity. Students contributed for for expenditure on spiritual activities (2000 Pahan pooja, Kapruk Pujawa, and Belimal Dhana). More than 200 students from 1st, 2nd & 3rd year participated. A notable significance is that there were student participants from different religious and ethnic backgrounds. Dean / Science also participated to motivate students. QIG funded the expenditure for two SLTB buses for transport and 200 lunch packets (veg.).
