Orientation on Attitude Domain (TOR-O/10a) and Portfolio Building (TOR-O/14a)

Two Workshops were conducted on 22nd and 23rd of November 2014 for First Year undergraduates of the the Faculty of Science, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. The Workshops were organized and funded by QIG, HETC project and Mr. Ajith Jayaweera, Senior Lecturer, Department of Livestock & Avian Sciences and Director Staff Development Center, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka




TOR-O/10-Orientation Workshop (Nov 22nd): To orient students on affective domain of learning and induce a sense of community responsibility and values such as selflessness, volunteerism, appreciation for other cultures and religions, etc.













TOR-O/14-Workshop on building portfolio (Nov 23rd): To provide motivation and guidance to students to compile evidence and reflective notes (via maintenance of Log Book/Diary or otherwise) on extra-curricular activities that would eventually contribute to build a portfolio. Moreover, provide the concept of portfolio and how to build it over 2-3 years.

Industrial Interaction for Academics

TOR-O/08_A: Workshop on Cleaner Production and Resource Efficiency

One-Day Workshop on Cleaner Production was held to sensitize the academics how important is this subject of cleaner production, and then explore how well we could impart this knowledge to undergraduates through our study program. The Workshop was held on 5th November 2014 from 8.45 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. and the resource persons were from National Cleaner Production Centre, Sri Lanka Eng. V. R. Sena Peiris, Chief Executive Officer, and  Eng. Samantha Kumarasena, Chief Operating Officer.

It was a successful and lively workshop with about 50 participants (mainly from Faculty of Science and two nominees each from other faculties).
